The program emphasizes learning, fun, and safety. The students spend as much time as possible on the water. Time on shore is spent learning about seamanship, nautical nomenclature, rules of the sea, boat maintenance, weather, and navigation. Young sailors build self-confidence by mastering the sport of sailing. More advanced sailors learn to race.
All instructors are US Sailing Small Boat Instructor, Safe Powerboating, and First Aid/CPR certified. The program follows strict safety guidelines developed by the U.S. Sailing Association. Students are required to pass a swim test and be comfortable in the water. Life jackets are mandatory on docks and on the water.
There are 4 two-week sessions, starting on Monday, June 15, and running through Friday, August 7.
Full-day program is $795 per session
If payment is received by 4/15, it is $695
Half-day program is $595 per session
If payment is received by 4/15, it is $495
