Welcome to the Candlewood Yacht Club Junior Sailing Program. We look forward to having your child enrolled in the program. Our goal is to create a passion for sailing in the next generation of sailors.

The program is open to everyone, for children aged 8 to 16. No prior sailing or boating experience is required.

However, sailors will be on the water most of the day, and in order to participate in the program, they MUST be comfortable wearing a life vest, MUST be able to swim, and MUST NOT be afraid of the water. Sailors will be required to pass a swim test on the first day of the session.

All our staff are US Sailing Association certified Instructors, certified in CPR and First Aid, and hold a Connecticut Safe Boating Certificate. The program follows strict safety guidelines developed by the club's board, the U.S. Sailing Association, the Junior Sailing Association of Long Island Sound, and the Gowrie Group's Burgee Program.
